# PF vs SimplyMeal

The clearest difference is rating: SimplyMeal at 3.7 against PF's 3.0. SimplyMeal also leads on ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.1). PF's advantage is review sentiment (92% vs 52%). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

SimplyMeal holds the better App Store score, 3.7 against 3.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 4 and 3 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 92% of PF's written reviews are positive against 52% of SimplyMeal's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

PF ships an update every 2 weeks, SimplyMeal monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
