# Core vs Round Timer

Core and Round Timer both sit at 5.0 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Core's written reviews are positive against 67% of Round Timer's. Round Timer's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 33 months) and monetization model (free vs freemium). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Core sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Round Timer sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Core against 4.9 for Round Timer. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 4 and 14 respectively. Written reviews are what separate them: 100% of Core's written reviews are positive against 67% of Round Timer's.

Core ships an update every 33 months, Round Timer every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
