# Text or Die vs Buffering

The clearest difference is rating: Buffering at 5.0 against Text or Die's 4.5. Buffering also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 10) and ads (none vs shown). Text or Die's advantage is ratings volume (212K vs 1) and chart position (#27 vs unranked). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Text or Die sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Buffering asks for nothing beyond the download.

Buffering holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Text or Die has 212K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
