# Oala vs Basvaaru

The clearest difference is monetization model: Basvaaru at free against Oala's subscription. Basvaaru also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and update cadence (every 9 days vs every 3 weeks). Oala's advantage is ratings volume (30 vs 2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Basvaaru holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Oala has 30 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Oala ships an update every 3 weeks, Basvaaru every 9 days. Both last shipped on September 24, 2026.
