# ClipIt vs Auto Record

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Auto Record at 100% against ClipIt's 61%. Auto Record also leads on ads (none vs shown) and rating (5.0 vs 4.6). ClipIt's advantage is ratings volume (475 vs 2) and update cadence (every 3 days vs every 8 days). On price, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ClipIt sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days and Auto Record sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Auto Record holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ClipIt has 475 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 61% of ClipIt's written reviews are positive against 100% of Auto Record's.

ClipIt ships an update every 3 days, Auto Record every 8 days. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
