# Apprendre le Chinois vs Basic

The clearest difference is update cadence: Basic at fortnightly against Apprendre le Chinois's every 3 months. Basic also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Apprendre le Chinois sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and Basic sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Apprendre le Chinois ships an update every 3 months, Basic fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
