# VendPay vs Hot Card

The clearest difference is rating: VendPay at 5.0 against Hot Card's 4.2. VendPay also leads on monetization model (free vs subscription) and ads (none vs shown). Hot Card's advantage is ratings volume (168 vs 1). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

VendPay holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hot Card has 168 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

VendPay ships an update every 3 weeks, Hot Card every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 9, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
