# L vs Text Recognition

The clearest difference is ads: L at none against Text Recognition's shown. L also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.6). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. L sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per year and Text Recognition sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
