# Block Ads vs Aetheryte

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Aetheryte at 100% against Block Ads's 20%. Aetheryte also leads on rating (4.9 vs 4.0) and update cadence (monthly vs every 2 months). Block Ads's advantage is ratings volume (642 vs 42) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 26.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Block Ads sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and Aetheryte sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Aetheryte holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Block Ads has 642 ratings behind it against 42, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 20% of Block Ads's written reviews are positive against 100% of Aetheryte's.

Block Ads ships an update every 2 months, Aetheryte monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
