# Text to Speech vs Focus Snap

The clearest difference is monetization model: Focus Snap at free against Text to Speech's free with in-app purchases. Focus Snap also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Text to Speech's advantage is ratings volume (963 vs 1) and update cadence (every 6 days vs every 3 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Text to Speech sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days and Focus Snap sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Focus Snap holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Text to Speech has 963 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Text to Speech ships an update every 6 days, Focus Snap every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
