# Gradescope vs TartanConnect

The clearest difference is rating: TartanConnect at 4.0 against Gradescope's 1.4. TartanConnect also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). Gradescope's advantage is ratings volume (275 vs 3) and review sentiment (9% vs 0%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

TartanConnect holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 1.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Gradescope has 275 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 9% of Gradescope's written reviews are positive against 0% of TartanConnect's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Gradescope ships an update every 2 months, TartanConnect every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
