# Aeon Timeline 3 vs Writing Tracker

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Writing Tracker at 100% against Aeon Timeline 3's 60%. Writing Tracker also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Aeon Timeline 3's advantage is rating (3.9 vs 3.5) and ratings volume (50 vs 4). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Aeon Timeline 3 sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $34.99 per year and Writing Tracker sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Aeon Timeline 3 holds the better App Store score, 3.9 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Aeon Timeline 3 has 50 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 60% of Aeon Timeline 3's written reviews are positive against 100% of Writing Tracker's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Aeon Timeline 3 ships an update monthly, Writing Tracker fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
