# Joy Square vs Wordfully

Joy Square and Wordfully both sit at 4.9 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Joy Square's written reviews are positive against 61% of Wordfully's. Joy Square also leads on ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (14.4 vs 18.6). Wordfully's advantage is ratings volume (11K vs 7) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Joy Square sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Wordfully sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Joy Square against 4.7 for Wordfully. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Wordfully has 11K ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 100% of Joy Square's written reviews are positive against 61% of Wordfully's.

Joy Square ships an update every 2 months, Wordfully fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on September 30, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
