# BookBase vs VisualMind

The clearest difference is review sentiment: BookBase at 81% against VisualMind's 23%. VisualMind's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 3.8) and ratings volume (3.3K vs 4). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. BookBase sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and VisualMind sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $13.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

VisualMind holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: VisualMind has 3.3K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 81% of BookBase's written reviews are positive against 23% of VisualMind's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

BookBase ships an update weekly, VisualMind fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
