# OnPhone vs Virtual Number & SMS

OnPhone and Virtual Number & SMS both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 87% of Virtual Number & SMS's written reviews are positive against 44% of OnPhone's. OnPhone's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and chart position (#143 vs unranked). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. OnPhone sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days and Virtual Number & SMS sells 15 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for OnPhone against 4.6 for Virtual Number & SMS. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: OnPhone has 52K ratings behind it against 8.3K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 44% of OnPhone's written reviews are positive against 87% of Virtual Number & SMS's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly fortnightly. Both last shipped on October 28, 2026.
