# Creature Crafter vs Coding for Kids

The clearest difference is ads: Coding for Kids at none against Creature Crafter's shown. Creature Crafter's advantage is ratings volume (11K vs 11) and update cadence (weekly vs monthly). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Creature Crafter sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and Coding for Kids sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Creature Crafter holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Creature Crafter has 11K ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 72% of Creature Crafter's written reviews are positive against 75% of Coding for Kids's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Creature Crafter ships an update weekly, Coding for Kids monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
