# CDL Prep vs CDL Wizard

The clearest difference is ads: CDL Wizard at none against CDL Prep's shown. CDL Wizard also leads on update cadence (every 4 weeks vs every 6 months) and review sentiment (95% vs 86%). CDL Prep's advantage is ratings volume (329 vs 34) and iOS requirement (12.1 vs 15.1). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CDL Prep sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month and CDL Wizard sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for CDL Prep against 4.7 for CDL Wizard. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CDL Prep has 329 ratings behind it against 34, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 86% of CDL Prep's written reviews are positive against 95% of CDL Wizard's.

CDL Prep ships an update every 6 months, CDL Wizard every 4 weeks. Both last shipped on October 1, 2026.
