# CDL Prep vs CDL Mastery

The clearest difference is ratings volume: CDL Prep at 328 against CDL Mastery's 18. CDL Prep also leads on iOS requirement (12.1 vs 14.0). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CDL Prep sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month and CDL Mastery sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

CDL Prep holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CDL Prep has 328 ratings behind it against 18, so its average is the more settled of the two.

CDL Prep ships an update every 6 months, CDL Mastery every 7 months. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and September 24, 2026 respectively.
