# BudWatcher vs Cinder

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Cinder at 90% against BudWatcher's 21%. Cinder also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 5) and iOS requirement (16.0 vs 18.0). BudWatcher's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 4.1) and chart position (#65 vs unranked). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. BudWatcher sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Cinder asks for nothing beyond the download.

BudWatcher holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.1. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 240 and 77 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 21% of BudWatcher's written reviews are positive against 90% of Cinder's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
