# Calligraphy vs Font maker

The clearest difference is rating: Font maker at 4.2 against Calligraphy's 2.9. Font maker also leads on review sentiment (69% vs 33%) and ratings volume (1.9K vs 25). Calligraphy's advantage is update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 8 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Calligraphy sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days and Font maker sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Font maker holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 2.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Font maker has 1.9K ratings behind it against 25, so its average is the more settled of the two.
