# Wemax vs So Media

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Wemax at none against So Media's 9. Wemax also leads on rating (2.9 vs 2.6). So Media's advantage is review sentiment (14% vs 0%). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. So Media sells 9 one-off in-app purchases. Wemax asks for nothing beyond the download.

Wemax holds the better App Store score, 2.9 against 2.6. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 20 and 7 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of Wemax's written reviews are positive against 14% of So Media's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Wemax ships an update every 6 weeks, So Media every 4 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
