# Exempt vs SeaPeople

The clearest difference is review sentiment: SeaPeople at 90% against Exempt's 7%. SeaPeople also leads on rating (4.9 vs 2.1) and ads (none vs shown). Exempt's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 8) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 5 weeks). On price, monetization model, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SeaPeople sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Exempt asks for nothing beyond the download.

SeaPeople holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 2.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SeaPeople has 1.2K ratings behind it against 103, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 7% of Exempt's written reviews are positive against 90% of SeaPeople's.

Exempt ships an update fortnightly, SeaPeople every 5 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
