# Trend Micro ScamCheck vs Blockr

The clearest difference is ads: Trend Micro ScamCheck at none against Blockr's shown. Trend Micro ScamCheck also leads on rating (4.6 vs 4.2) and ratings volume (2.4K vs 367). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Trend Micro ScamCheck sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Blockr sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Trend Micro ScamCheck holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Trend Micro ScamCheck has 2.4K ratings behind it against 367, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 42% of Trend Micro ScamCheck's written reviews are positive against 47% of Blockr's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Trend Micro ScamCheck ships an update every 3 weeks, Blockr every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on October 30, 2026.
