# Gridlock vs MileWise

The clearest difference is ads: MileWise at none against Gridlock's shown. MileWise also leads on rating (4.9 vs 4.5) and update cadence (every 6 days vs fortnightly). Gridlock's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 67%) and ratings volume (40 vs 12). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Gridlock sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and MileWise sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $7.49 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

MileWise holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 40 and 12 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Gridlock's written reviews are positive against 67% of MileWise's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Gridlock ships an update fortnightly, MileWise every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
