# Stay in Bed vs Cupcake

The clearest difference is rating: Cupcake at 4.1 against Stay in Bed's 3.0. Cupcake also leads on update cadence (every 2 months vs every 23 months) and ratings volume (167 vs 1). Stay in Bed's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 10) and review sentiment (50% vs 32%). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Cupcake sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Stay in Bed asks for nothing beyond the download.

Cupcake holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Cupcake has 167 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Stay in Bed's written reviews are positive against 32% of Cupcake's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Stay in Bed ships an update every 23 months, Cupcake every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
