# Evolution Arena vs Critical

Evolution Arena and Critical both sit at 4.5 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Evolution Arena's written reviews are positive against 18% of Critical's. Critical's advantage is ratings volume (125 vs 20). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Evolution Arena sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Critical sells 17 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for Evolution Arena against 4.4 for Critical. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Critical has 125 ratings behind it against 20, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 100% of Evolution Arena's written reviews are positive against 18% of Critical's.

Evolution Arena ships an update every 9 days, Critical fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
