# Calca app vs AR Drawing

The clearest difference is rating: AR Drawing at 4.6 against Calca app's 4.0. AR Drawing also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (1.2K vs 91). Calca app's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and iOS requirement (16.0 vs 18.6). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Calca app sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per year and AR Drawing sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

AR Drawing holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AR Drawing has 1.2K ratings behind it against 91, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 48% of Calca app's written reviews are positive against 61% of AR Drawing's.

Calca app ships an update fortnightly, AR Drawing every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
