# Supernotes vs Journal & Diary

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Supernotes at 122 against Journal & Diary's 22. Supernotes also leads on iOS requirement (15.0 vs 26.1). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Supernotes sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $11.00 per month and Journal & Diary sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Supernotes against 4.8 for Journal & Diary. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Supernotes has 122 ratings behind it against 22, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 91% of Supernotes's written reviews are positive against 86% of Journal & Diary's.

Supernotes ships an update monthly, Journal & Diary fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
