# Playmo vs 88 Films

The clearest difference is rating: Playmo at 4.5 against 88 Films's 2.6. Playmo also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 10) and ratings volume (31 vs 5). 88 Films's advantage is review sentiment (50% vs 38%). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. 88 Films sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Playmo asks for nothing beyond the download.

Playmo holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 2.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Playmo has 31 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 38% of Playmo's written reviews are positive against 50% of 88 Films's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Playmo ships an update monthly, 88 Films every 6 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
