# ShieldGPS vs AI Security

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: ShieldGPS at none against AI Security's 10. ShieldGPS also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.5) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). AI Security's advantage is ratings volume (9.6K vs 20) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. AI Security sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days. ShieldGPS asks for nothing beyond the download.

ShieldGPS holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AI Security has 9.6K ratings behind it against 20, so its average is the more settled of the two.

ShieldGPS ships an update every 2 months, AI Security every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 6, 2026 respectively.
