# Nothing X vs LocalSend

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Nothing X at none against LocalSend's 4. Nothing X also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.5) and ratings volume (3.3K vs 661). LocalSend's advantage is chart position (#95 vs unranked) and review sentiment (81% vs 72%). On price, update cadence, ads and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. LocalSend sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Nothing X asks for nothing beyond the download.

Nothing X holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Nothing X has 3.3K ratings behind it against 661, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 72% of Nothing X's written reviews are positive against 81% of LocalSend's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Nothing X ships an update every 3 weeks, LocalSend every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
