# Desktop Browser vs Google Play Console

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Google Play Console at none against Desktop Browser's 3. Google Play Console also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.5). Desktop Browser's advantage is ratings volume (3.3K vs 154). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Desktop Browser sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Google Play Console asks for nothing beyond the download.

Google Play Console holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Desktop Browser has 3.3K ratings behind it against 154, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 65% of Desktop Browser's written reviews are positive against 57% of Google Play Console's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Desktop Browser ships an update every 5 weeks, Google Play Console every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
