# Countdown widget vs TickDown

The clearest difference is rating: TickDown at 5.0 against Countdown widget's 4.5. TickDown also leads on monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). Countdown widget's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (1.3K vs 1). On price, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Countdown widget sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per year and TickDown sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

TickDown holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Countdown widget has 1.3K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Countdown widget ships an update weekly, TickDown every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
