# Thermometer vs Thermometer

The clearest difference is ads: Thermometer at none against Thermometer's shown. Thermometer also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Thermometer's advantage is ratings volume (29 vs 2). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Thermometer sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and Thermometer sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Thermometer holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Thermometer has 29 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 81% of Thermometer's written reviews are positive against 85% of Thermometer's.

Thermometer ships an update every 5 weeks, Thermometer every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
