# Reverse Audio Recorder vs BackPlay

The clearest difference is update cadence: BackPlay at every 2 weeks against Reverse Audio Recorder's every 32 months. BackPlay also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.4). Reverse Audio Recorder's advantage is ratings volume (201 vs 15). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Reverse Audio Recorder sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and BackPlay sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

BackPlay holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Reverse Audio Recorder has 201 ratings behind it against 15, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Reverse Audio Recorder ships an update every 32 months, BackPlay every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
