# PPNote vs Bookmarks

The clearest difference is rating: Bookmarks at 4.5 against PPNote's 3.5. Bookmarks also leads on update cadence (every 4 weeks vs every 7 months) and ratings volume (65 vs 2). PPNote's advantage is iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PPNote sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Bookmarks sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 2 months. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Bookmarks holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Bookmarks has 65 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 40% of PPNote's written reviews are positive against 59% of Bookmarks's.

PPNote ships an update every 7 months, Bookmarks every 4 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
