# TextMaker vs Pre

The clearest difference is update cadence: Pre at every 3 weeks against TextMaker's every 2 months. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TextMaker sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.49 per month and Pre sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

TextMaker ships an update every 2 months, Pre every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
