# EthOS vs Ascend

The clearest difference is rating: Ascend at 5.0 against EthOS's 4.6. Ascend also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months). EthOS's advantage is ratings volume (42 vs 1) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 16.4). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Ascend holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: EthOS has 42 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

EthOS ships an update every 2 months, Ascend every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
