# MDate vs Rocket VPN

The clearest difference is rating: MDate at 5.0 against Rocket VPN's 3.5. MDate also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). Rocket VPN's advantage is ratings volume (124 vs 2). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

MDate holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Rocket VPN has 124 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.
