# Rivian vs Merchants FleetShare

The clearest difference is rating: Rivian at 4.4 against Merchants FleetShare's 2.9. Rivian also leads on ratings volume (1.4K vs 9) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months). Merchants FleetShare's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Rivian holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 2.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Rivian has 1.4K ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 45% of Rivian's written reviews are positive against 50% of Merchants FleetShare's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Rivian ships an update every 3 weeks, Merchants FleetShare every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
