# noteit vs Free Media

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Free Media at none against noteit's 14. Free Media also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs fortnightly) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). noteit's advantage is ratings volume (99K vs 1) and chart position (#194 vs unranked). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. noteit sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Free Media asks for nothing beyond the download.

Free Media holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: noteit has 99K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

noteit ships an update fortnightly, Free Media every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
