# PDF Editor vs iFING Scanner

The clearest difference is review sentiment: iFING Scanner at 89% against PDF Editor's 43%. iFING Scanner also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.0). PDF Editor's advantage is rating (4.3 vs 2.6) and ratings volume (189 vs 5). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PDF Editor sells 16 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days and iFING Scanner sells 16 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

PDF Editor holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 2.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PDF Editor has 189 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 43% of PDF Editor's written reviews are positive against 89% of iFING Scanner's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

PDF Editor ships an update every 2 months, iFING Scanner every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
