# iDocument Scanner vs Scan Now

The clearest difference is rating: Scan Now at 4.8 against iDocument Scanner's 4.2. Scan Now also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (2K vs 5). iDocument Scanner's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 60%) and in-app purchases (none vs 6). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Scan Now sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $7.95 per 7 days. iDocument Scanner asks for nothing beyond the download.

Scan Now holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Scan Now has 2K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of iDocument Scanner's written reviews are positive against 60% of Scan Now's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

iDocument Scanner ships an update every 3 months, Scan Now every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 2, 2026.
