# Simple Speedometer + vs Rota

The clearest difference is monetization model: Rota at free against Simple Speedometer +'s subscription. Rota also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 3 months). Simple Speedometer +'s advantage is iOS requirement (16.0 vs 26.1). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Simple Speedometer + sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Rota sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Simple Speedometer + ships an update every 3 months, Rota weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
