# MarlinStars vs Risoy

MarlinStars and Risoy both sit at 5.0 stars, but that hides the real split: 96% of MarlinStars's written reviews are positive against 63% of Risoy's. MarlinStars also leads on monetization model (free vs ad-supported). Risoy's advantage is update cadence (every 10 days vs every 7 months) and ratings volume (25 vs 3). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for MarlinStars against 5.0 for Risoy. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Risoy has 25 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.
