# NoteEase vs Reader's Bench

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Reader's Bench at 100% against NoteEase's 42%. Reader's Bench also leads on monetization model (freemium vs subscription) and update cadence (every 6 days vs monthly). NoteEase's advantage is rating (4.4 vs 3.0) and ads (none vs shown). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. NoteEase sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $4.49 per year and Reader's Bench sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

NoteEase holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: NoteEase has 67 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 42% of NoteEase's written reviews are positive against 100% of Reader's Bench's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

NoteEase ships an update monthly, Reader's Bench every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
