# Uncle Chen’s vs Halls

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Uncle Chen’s at none against Halls's 1. Uncle Chen’s also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 17.0). Halls's advantage is ratings volume (14 vs 1). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Halls sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $1.99 per month. Uncle Chen’s asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Uncle Chen’s against 5.0 for Halls. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Halls has 14 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
