# Mastodon vs TEXIAN

The clearest difference is review sentiment: TEXIAN at 83% against Mastodon's 48%. TEXIAN also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.5) and update cadence (fortnightly vs monthly). Mastodon's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 3) and ratings volume (13K vs 25). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TEXIAN sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.29 per month. Mastodon asks for nothing beyond the download.

TEXIAN holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Mastodon has 13K ratings behind it against 25, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 48% of Mastodon's written reviews are positive against 83% of TEXIAN's.

Mastodon ships an update monthly, TEXIAN fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
