# Mastodon vs Moob

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Mastodon at none against Moob's 10. Mastodon also leads on ratings volume (13K vs 10) and rating (4.5 vs 4.3). Moob's advantage is review sentiment (80% vs 48%) and update cadence (weekly vs monthly). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Moob sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Mastodon asks for nothing beyond the download.

Mastodon holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Mastodon has 13K ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 48% of Mastodon's written reviews are positive against 80% of Moob's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Mastodon ships an update monthly, Moob weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
