# Mastodon vs Rune Soup

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Rune Soup at 100% against Mastodon's 48%. Rune Soup also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.5) and update cadence (weekly vs monthly). Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
